How sweet are dresses on little girls? So sweet.
This is Clara in a pretty Lavendar dress that's a hand-me-down from Auntie Rachael. It's so super cute!
In other news at our house, lately things have been pretty busy. We had a group called LIGHT from California Baptist University come and lead a concert of worship at Camelback Bible Church. It was special for me because one of my friends from APU was the leader of the group. It felt like being home even though it was froma different school. Same feel. Thanks to all of our friends and family who came to support!
Owen has been in Las Vegas a couple of times in the last couple of weeks on business. Kind of funny that you can travel so quickly and do a job and be home for dinner (well not really) just in the same day.
Rachael and her family are home. I am glad. We haven't spent a ton of time together yet, but just knowing she's just down the road makes a big difference I think for both of us!
Owen is pushing Clara in the swing outside. I love Saturdays, as I can watch my hubby and my baby enjoy eachother. Clara doesn't like to nap on Saturdays because she is too excited to play with Dad! It's a good thing he's home to help take care of her on those days! Time for breakfast.
This is Clara this week at 7 months sitting in her high chair...can we say Oh my goodness how she's grown? She not only can sit up alone in her high chair, she seems to comand the space! The high chair is now placed at the head of our table. Hmmm maybe that isn't the right place for Clara who is already pleased to have the attention of everyone and everything in the room!

This was Clara at 12 weeks, wearing her super cute sun hat...which is now too small!
This is Clara at 7 months wearing her new super cute sun hat! It is so true what they say, they grow so fast. She looks so different in these two pictures. Doesn't even really look like the same baby. Notice that she's rounded out nicely!

Clara told me today that she had a special message for her Noni & Commander and GB and Grandma Lynn. She misses you, but mostly she just loves you.
A special thanks to Grandma Joy for taking care of Clara the last 3 weeks while I went back to work for a few training days at UMOM. I appreciate knowing that she's well take care of! She loves all the Maurer grandparents here too
I got my girl back! Clara is officially better from her virus...yesterday with vim and vigor she all of the sudden got her personality back. So she was enjoying looking up at mommy and practicing her new balancing skills!
We got our first rain storm tonight. Yes, that is a rain gage, yes my husband likes to read his rain gage. It did rain 2 inches in just 20 minutes and it's still raining! See our flooded patio. YIKES!

So I mentioned that Owen sent me flowers...here they are.
Owen took me out to Roys Hawaiian Fusion for dinner (SUPER NICE AND YUMMY) and then we went and saw Kung Fu Panda. It was a really nice date night. I hate to say it, but it was our first since Clara was born. Grandma and Grandpa watched Clara. We were so thankful that they dealt with a very fussy baby so we could enjoy our night.
Clara wore the cutest outfit to celebrate Independance Day. It's a little big still but too cute to not wear for the day. We stopped breifly at our small group celebration. Since she'd been sick I didn't want to over do it with her. First time wearing shoes too...Gma and Gpa are always buying her shoes saying "we're so sure that these ones will fit!". For some reason Clara's feet are the last thing to grow on her so although these shoes have been in her drawer for about 3 months, this is their first appearance!
Yes, those are carrots in the corner of her mouth. I didn't do as good a job as I thought I did cleaing up her face.

Clara had been acting a little funny for a couple of days when she spiked a fever of 102. So we gave tylenol and called the pediatrician. I didn't go to work the next day and took her in. Well of course when we're at the dr. she has no fever and acts like a perfect little doll.
They said it was probably just a virus and to not be to concerned. Because our pediatrician's office is a teaching hospital so as an option they offered to do a catheter to check for a UTI. I opted out seeing that she seemed to have "magically" improved! Of course an hour and a half later when my daughter was asleep 1 hour early after screaming for quite some time I called the dr. back and requested the test.
When I got Clara up from her nap, she was doing some labored breathing thing, but I nursed her anyways. She was still doing it when we got to the doctors office but again, was being cute with the check in folks...10 minutes later it was a whole different story. I was in the room waiting for a dr. to come in when her labored breathing increased greatly and I went to the hallway to ask for a doctor...stat. (funny that I use that word huh?). They came in and said that she needed to go to the ER right away. She then in true Clara fashion vomitted (not puked) all over the place including my cell phone which was in my hand calling Owen. YIKES! Her breathing seemed to calm a bit after that but we went to the ER still.
When all was said and done, Clara was suffering from a virus that caused a very high fever and her body was having a bad reaction to the fever. We did get a catheter test, an IV and blood drawn to find all of this out. I've never seen Clara so lathargic and "out of it". It was very scary. Owen took some photos on his cell phone, but don't have a way to upload. I am sure you can imagine. We were home with a very tired baby at 8 pm. She's doing much better today, but we've stayed in and are only making a breif appearance at our 4th of July party. So, who knew a virus could do that?
