Close Up!

It's time for the close up! Ha ha.
Judah was all dressed up in a cute sweater I just had to get a picture of. Yes, the high was only int he 60's so he was perfectly dressed...I figured it was just about one of the only time he'd get to wear this fantastic hmd!
Clara...well that's what her hair looked like after it was in piggy buns for halloween. It was just too fabulous not to take pictures of. She's practicing her "smile" for the camera. I think they're both hams! And man...they sure do look alike!

Halloween

Here are a few of the characters from the Halloween Party at the Masons that we went to...Bradley & Maebelle had a good time being a Monkey and a Ladybug. Judah was a skeleton. BTW that's our friend Ashley holding Judah
Owen lived out his life long dream of being a Cowboy...for those of you who were at our wedding, his pick song for his slideshow was "Shoulda Been a Cowboy". Yes he owns the hat much to my dismay. Clara was a cat...although her face paint was wiping off on the furniture so we took it off. She said meow a lot but mostly just pushed the other kids. I hope it's just a stage!
Judah was a skeleton...it glowed in the dark although I couldn't get a good shot of it. We had fun. Glad to have the kids in bed though!

Baby it's cold outsdie...

It's below 70 degrees in the morning...so that is considered cold in my book.
It was in the 60s this morning. So the kiddos were double blanketed and had snow hats on. Thats right folks. Snow hats.

Come on, I've got to protect them from that awesome wind chill I create when I run. Ha ha.

Amazing Pictures of my Kids

Check out this blog for som amazing pictures of my kids. Of course I think my kids are cute, but Kacey has a way of draiwing out their extra inner cuteness!
Kacey is a great friend from my college days at APU...a fantastic artist, friend, singer (although I think she'd deny this one these days), and a true seeker of Christ.
She came over to have brunch and get caught up after her recent nuptuals, but blessed me with great fellowship and some amazing pictures of the kids.
Ok...how many times to do I have to say that the pictures are amazing?
See for yourselves! http://kaceyluvi.blogspot.com/2009/10/my-friends-clara-and-judah.html

Five Months Already???

Judah recieved his first hair cut from his daddy a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know Owen had such strong feelings about "hair". But he firmly stated "No son of mine will have a mullet". So Owen gave Judah a trim. It was quite cute to see daddy and son in this way. I believe Owen has paid for maybe one or two hair cuts in his whole life...so I assume the above picture is just the beginning of a Maurer boy tradition. I will gladly pay for Clara to get haircuts thank you very much
Judah playing outside in his exersaucer.
Quite satisfied with his new do.
We can hardly believe that this cutie pie only came into our lives 5 months ago. We feel tremendously blessed by him (and challenged too as any parent feels). Time has gone by so much faster this time around--I can hardly believe that he was once a still itybity compared to his strong boysterous personality now. What fun!

Pumpkins!

We went to "Mother Natures Farm" this past Friday and we had fun! As you can see above, Clara was in high curiosity mode. She wanted to look at everything and touch everything...It was fun to watch her discover the animals--pigs, goats, cows, turkeys & roosters. We took a hay ride and played in the jump tent.
Grandma came with us since she was in town. It's great to have grandparents around to do activities like this with! Judah slept just about the whole time in the moby wrap--which was nice since that meant we could just let Clara go and do what she wanted to. He did wake up at the end and give us the fantastic smile below!

Strike a pose!

This is me in my wedding dress just four months after having my second baby...all I have to say is, it's a corset top, don't give me too much credit! It was so much fun to be a bride again for a few hours. The second I pulled the dress out of the box (an old rubbermade box) I remembered how much I loved this dress and why I chose it.
I didn't wear a vail at our wedding, but used my shawl as a veil for the shoot. Pretty creative.
This is aunt Marilynn again...she kept telling me to "give her drama" during the photo shoot. I don't think I've ever had any one ask me for more drama...quite the opposite actually! It was super fun. Thanks Lem and Marilynn!

Fish Tales

We had more family in town this week...above is Aunt Marilynn holding Judah. She likes babies just a little bit!
Cousin Sarah was housesitting for a place that was right on Arowhead Lake. Owen Caught a fish right off the bat...Clara didn't really know what to think. She cried the whole time the fish was out of water!
Daddy and the fish
She was fascinated by the airplane...and cherry tomatoes!

It's no secret...

It's no secret that I love my mom. And today happens to be her birthday! Happy Birthday MOM!
Now that I am a mom, and specifically, a mom of two, I am much more awed by the hard work that my mom put in raising my twin brother, my sister and I. I marvel at the fact that she breastfed twins...for 18 months, and that we didn't sleep through the night for a long time and she still loved us.
Now that I am a mom, I can see how hard she worked to provide us with a safe home, to teach us important life lessons, and most importantly, to teach me to love the Lord.
I see my mom in a whole new light now that I am a mom of two. It's so ironic that for 29 years she has poored her life into her children...and it wasn't until 2 years ago that I really realized what that meant. Funny how motherhood makes you appreciate your own mom that much more!
So...it's no secret that I love my mom. And....
It's no secret that she loves her grandbabies!
