Funny how Judah doesn't seem to be messy. Just to clarify, daddy was the one who fed him this meal.

Train them while they're young

"All work and no play!"

"What are you lookin' at? Back to Work!"

**Yes ma'm, that's my sweet little Clara holding a Milwaukee Sawsall!

Daddy Projects

Lately daddy has been doing some projects around the house. It's been fun for sure...but not free of messes!
Clara was intent on soaking up her first experience as a painter. She even picked her own outfit, including the hat.
What paint experience could be complete without a little smudge on the face?
Oh the glee.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to all those we love so much. A special thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Maurer for the great valentines day package for the kids! We opened it right after nap time so the kids are a little dazed in the picture! Nothing a little animal cracker and fruit snacks couldn't take care of!
Another "notsogreat" picture...but oh so picturesque for what our life is like at the moment. Clara is definitely hitting the terrible twos. She's running from us at every opportunity, she tantrums when she doesn't get her way, insists on putting socks on like a baseball player and has mastered the "i know you just told me not to do what I am about to do and I am going to do it anyways" look. Fun times. For the 15 minutes that it took us to walk home from the park today, Clara was determined to get these socks on the way she wanted them and worked dilligently at it until she was pleased. What a character.
When she's not practicing the art of being two, she's an absolute joy. She's cracking me up with the creative way she says her friends names & what she associates with them. Olivia, her older cousin is Velovia with the 'v's sounding like b's. Her BFF James is aparently associated with our car. Everytime I get her in the car she enthusiastically says "James! No push" and pushes her own tummy. She pushes him a lot and we work on it every day. At least she knows I don't want her to push him. Now if she could just act on that. I hope I never forget her sweet little voice. I am ok with forgetting the shrill scream that can come out of her mouth though! I know, I know, pay back.

House Projects

I am admitedly the worst person at finding the right space and item to place on my walls! I am always afraid our small house and therefore small walls of our house will look cluttered, but I don't love the bare wall look either! I finally wen to Hobby Lobby--if you haven't gone you should go--and bought these super cute iron wall decorations. I have a few more that I'll take pictures of when the work is complete, but I actually love how this turned out. A special thanks to my husband for drilling into our brick walls despite every contrived reason he could think of not to.

He's All Boy...

The other day we went to the park. I usually bring a blanket for us to sit on, but having an active two year old we don't spend any time on the blanket. On this day however, we planned to do snack at the park so I put Judah on the blanket and he's learned how to turn around while he sits. As you can see, he was delighted with what he found at the edge of the blanket.
Such glee over sand in his mouth.
Caught red handed. He definitely couldn't blame this on his sister! He's all boy!

Teething

I start like this...And I am like, "Ok, man, I can handle this, look'n good"...
and then all of the sudden...

There is this string of drool that I can't quite seem to get a hold of.

I tell ya, it's pretty frustrating. I mean seriously, how am I ever gonna catch a hot babe with this slobber face? My mom says it's this thing called teething.
I don't know if I should believe her or if she's just pull'n my leg and making excuses for me!

A Certain Blue Eyed Boy...

A certain blue eyed boy decided that it would be more fun today to go poop during his nap rather than sleep. His wimpering woke me from my power nap today--but the stench made me get out of bed and address this cutie pie. After the diapering was done, there was no more sleep in sight so we took a shower in stead. I don't think I have seen him so excited about a shower in all my life! He definitely knew he was getting out of his nap. At least he hamed it up for the camera afterwards. I am sure that a lot of his excitement had to do with the fact that his sister was still sleeping and he had mommy all to himself. Yep, I know he loves me that much!

Hair Cut

Today was the first day that I had a charged camera and Clara's hair done. We went a few weeks ago and got her a cute little hair cut. Two years of growth was starting to look a little scraggly! She definitely looks older with her bob. I love it. It still curls quite nicely--but I also might use my straight iron on her to get this look. Please excuse the glazed over look--she was watching VeggieTales while I quick cleaned the house before our day out. This is also a sure fire way to get Clara to hold still for pictures...she doesn't do that any more!
