Wesley Turns One!

We had a VERY low key day for Wesley on his birthday. We played outside, took naps, had pizza and apple sauce for dinner. This kid can eat. He at a whole piece of pizza and an enormous bowl of apple sauce.

I tried to spend most of the day holding Wesley as I am nursing my own denial that my baby is one. He really wanted nothing to do with that since he's more interested in practicing walking! Now the series of pictures from his first cake eating are awesome. I have never seen anything like it...Clara was rather timid when she ate her cupcake and it was a sheer miracle that Judah even tasted the frosting. Wesley, well he was a whole other story.

We actually were able to get a family picture. That's a miracle in and of itself. We had a very great day celebrating Wesley. Although we didn't do a traditional first birthday party, this day was very special for me (lets be honest, Wes really has no idea what it's like to have a birthday what he's getting or what he's missing) because this is the first time that we've not been pregnant or trying to get pregnant with the next baby. I am in no rush to end his baby days and am soaking up each second of his sweet baby--almost toddler hood. Thank you God for this sweet blessing, the joy of our lives, and this loving, fun, and laughable baby brother!
